What does a whole-school primary curriculum package include?

·

A whole-school primary curriculum package is designed to give you a complete, coherent curriculum offer for the entire school (not just a set of individual lesson plans). It should include everything leaders and teachers need to plan, teach, and evidence learning from Early Years through to Year 6.

In a whole-school package, you’d expect:

  • A full set of curriculum units across the year groups (often organised as themes), with clear sequencing and progression.
  • Ready-to-teach planning and resources so teachers aren’t creating everything from scratch.
  • Whole-school curriculum mapping so leaders can see coverage, progression, and where statutory objectives are taught.
  • Support for subject leadership (so subjects don’t get lost inside “topics”).
  • Training and implementation support so staff understand the approach and can roll it out consistently.
  • A central resource library/portal (where applicable) with teaching materials such as slides, PDFs, templates, images, video and audio resources.
  • Guidance on adapting for your context (local area, cohort needs and, where relevant, British international school settings).
