Free Remembrance Day resources for primary schools
Remembrance Day offers a valuable opportunity for pupils to pause, reflect and learn about the people, stories and sacrifices behind the poppies they see each November. Our free Remembrance Day materials give your whole school a thoughtful, age-appropriate way to explore the meaning of remembrance together.
Created for Reception, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2, the themes include ready-to-teach lessons, classroom resources, key vocabulary, knowledge organisers, quizzes and practical activities. There are also whole-school resources, including a bespoke song inspired by the Christmas truce of 1914 and an outdoor learning activity.
Simply complete the form to receive free access to Dimensions Connect, our online learning platform. You will be able to explore and teach the full Remembrance Day materials directly from the platform, with everything you need in one place.
Free until 30 November. Sign up with your school email address.
Four lessons, from Reception to Year 6.
The materials are designed to make a sensitive subject accessible, meaningful and manageable for busy teachers. Pupils can investigate real stories and historical sources, share their thoughts, and consider themes of service, peace, courage and hope.
