Operation Pied Piper
Operation Pied Piper is a thematic unit based on the evacuation of children (code named ‘Operation Pied Piper’) during World War Two and the Home Front during World War Two. There is a key focus on history. Pupils will learn about the causes of World War Two and the countries involved. They will then find out about the evacuation of children to the countryside during the war, the roles the public played to support the war effort in Britain and government initiatives of rationing and supplying air raid shelters.
