Humpty and Friends
Humpty and Friends is an Early Years unit built around well-known nursery rhymes such as Humpty Dumpty, Mary, Mary Quite Contrary, Old MacDonald, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I’m a Little Teapot and more. Children explore rhyme, rhythm, story structure, characters and settings through play, performance and hands-on activities. They build walls for Humpty, plant seeds for Mary’s garden, round up farm animals, make stars for the night sky and use props to retell rhymes. The unit encourages rich communication, imagination, early literacy and numeracy, while also supporting physical development, collaboration and an understanding of the world
