Hot Off the Press!
Hot Off the Press! is a thematic unit based around the history and development of print with a focus on comics and cartoons. This will then develop into learning about animation. It primarily takes in elements of history, art and computing / ICT and starts with learning about the beginnings of print, exploring Gutenberg and the early printers before moving onto type faces and cartoon prints. The animation part of the unit provides pupils with an opportunity to exchange their own design ideas and create their own animated films.
