Blast Off

Blast Off! is a space-themed Early Years unit that launches children into an imaginative exploration of rockets, planets, astronauts and aliens. Through hands-on play and creative investigation, children experiment with forces, movement, design and storytelling. They build rockets, create moonscapes, act out space missions, explore sounds, patterns and shapes, and begin to understand what life is like beyond Earth. The theme encourages curiosity, collaboration and expressive language as children take part in role-play missions, count down for rocket launches, navigate space maps and investigate stars, planets and the solar system.
